Violet

You were too young

When you fell in love

You were too young

When He took your love

Since then, you’ve been around

Playing a fling with different people

Building a bad reputation for yourself

Getting bad names behind your back

But still you didn’t care

You felt another love

But he took away the innocence

And left you alone in the dark

Shamed by judgement

Bruised by the words they threw at you

Wounded by how you were treated

You had a bad reputation

Love became your sworn enemy

The numbness of your heart guarded you from pain

And the coldness sheltered you from people

You had a bad reputation

You’re still carrying that violet bruise

In your heart and in your soul

Waiting for it to fade away

As you slowly try to open up, again

You learned your lesson

You know what to do

For this another love is about to sprout

Don’t get yourself too attached, and love yourself twice as much.
